I am trying to perform an on-premise update from 2013 to 2016, but I have to go through CRM 2015 first. I have tried to update my test environment and I am getting two errors:
First Error
Cannot open database "crm_mscrm_final_MSCRM" requested by the login.
However the database name is "crm_mscrm_final", I checked in the connection string in mscrm_config table and it shows crm_mscrm_final. Is there another place I should look to find where the installer is looking for this information. Also my test environment is working fine?
Second Error:
16:55:43| Error| Check LicenseKeyValidator : Failure: The product key is not compatible with the installed version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
I did not do the initial install of 2011, however I performed the update to 2013 without an issue. If I have to request a new key, I will have to go through my IT, so I would like know the process to help move it along.
Please help, I'm excited to try the new functionality!!!
